Immigrants in this country, both documented and undocumented, face many, though sometimes varied, challenges in obtaining quality, affordable health care. Since one of Catholic health care’s primary commitments is to provide "health care to those in need of it" (Directive #1), especially "those people whose social condition puts them at the margins of our society and makes them particularly vulnerable to discrimination" (Directive #3). There is an urgent obligation on the part of Catholic health care to address this situation.
This webinar examines the challenges immigrants face in access to health care and the responsibilities and possible responses from Catholic health care to address the health needs of immigrants.
