The series is designed to help community benefit managers document the progress and impact of their programs while meeting Internal Revenue Service and/or funder requirements for program evaluation.

Each webinar will have its specific theme and learning objectives. Overall, the series will:

  • Present basic evaluation concepts and tools drawing on the publication, Evaluating Your Community Benefit Impact, including how to develop program objectives, identify evaluation questions, determine indicators and engage partners in the process.
  • Recommend practical, actionable evaluation steps by examining a range of real case studies (from programs focused on prevention to those addressing policy, systems and environmental change).
  • Encourage member discussion of program evaluation experiences and lessons learned.

WEBINAR 1: Introduction to Community Benefit Program Evaluation: Education/Prevention Program
Date: Feb. 28, 3-4 p.m. ET

Learning objectives: By the end of this webinar, we will have:

  • Described the purpose and structure of the evaluation webinar series
  • Presented an overview of program evaluation requirements and concepts based on CDC's evaluation framework
  • Explained how logic modeling can help determine evaluation questions and indicators

WEBINAR 2: Evaluating Multi-Component Interventions
Date: March 22, 3-4 p.m. ET

Learning objectives: By the end of this webinar, we will have:

  • Reviewed evaluation concepts covered in the previous webinar
  • Presented considerations for evaluating a multicomponent intervention
  • Examined evaluation steps particularly related to community engagement, design and data collection

WEBINAR 3: Evaluating Community Initiatives
Date: April 18, 3-4 p.m. ET

Learning objectives: By the end of this webinar, we will have:

  • Reviewed evaluation concepts covered in the previous webinar
  • Presented considerations for evaluating broader community initiatives
  • Examined steps for evaluating community initiatives, particularly related to engaging diverse stakeholders throughout the evaluation process

WEBINAR 4: Evaluating Policy, System and Environmental (PSE) Change
Date: May 17, 3-4 p.m. ET

  • Reviewed evaluation concepts covered in the previous webinar
  • Presented considerations for evaluating PSE efforts
  • Examined evaluation steps particularly related to PSE logic modeling and analysis

Certificate of Attendance

Please note: CHA does not offer Continuing Education Units (CEU) for any programs. Participants will receive an email with information on how to acquire a Certificate of Attendance following the program (typically included in the program evaluation email). Certificates of Attendance may be submitted to relevant organizations that accept proof of contact hours as credit. These include:

American College of Healthcare Executives: American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) members may self-report qualifying CEUs using the contact hour information provided on their CHA Certificate of Attendance. To self-report, log in as a member on the ACHE site; use the link on the left-hand side to self-report applicable contact hours for CEU credit.

NACC Board Certified Chaplains: National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) board certified chaplain members may self-report their continuing education hours (CEH's) using the contact hours information provided on their CHA Certificate of Attendance.

These materials will come to you from "CHA Service Center," so please watch for that email address. Be sure to have these materials ready the day of the webinar so that you can easily access the event and utilize the materials. If you have registered and are convening a group of participants, please consider yourself the "site coordinator" and review the following suggested recommendations for serving in that role on behalf of the group.
