Patricia "Pat" Burns is president and chief executive officer of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital–Westover Hills in San Antonio, Texas. She began her role in December 2019.

Ms. Burns was previously CEO of JFK Medical Center North Campus Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. She is also the former COO of Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and vice president of operations of Methodist Healthcare, both in San Antonio.

Ms. Burns earned a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory services from University of Houston at Clear Lake City and a master's degree in health services management from Webster Groves, Mo.-based Webster University.

Corinne Francis serves as system vice president for mission integration at CommonSpirit Health. Prior to her role at the CommonSpirit Health, she served as senior vice president of mission integration at Dignity Health.

Ms. Francis has deep experience in Catholic health care. Prior to working for Dignity Health, she served as system vice president for mission integration and community benefit at CHRISTUS Health, which preceded 11 years as a mission executive with Catholic Health East, where she held the positions of vice president of mission integration for mission services for Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, N.J.; St. Anthony's Health Care in St. Petersburg, Fla.; and St. James Mercy Health System in Hornell, N.Y.

In her volunteer work, Ms. Francis serves as a founder and treasurer of Medical Professionals On A Mission, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to respond to disasters in the Caribbean. The team has responded to the aftermath of hurricanes in Dominica and the Bahamas since its founding after hurricane Maria in 2017.

In 2006, Ms. Francis was selected by Modern Healthcare as one of 12 Up and Comers in U.S. Healthcare. She has also served as a board member of the Catholic Health Association and chair of the Diversity and Health Disparities Committee. In 2018 she was bestowed the honor of Carlow University Laureate by her alma mater.

Ms. Francis holds a master of arts degree in social service administration, with a certificate in health administration and policy from the University of Chicago; a master of divinity degree with a concentration in health care mission leadership as a Cardinal Bernardin Scholar from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago; and a bachelor of arts degree in theology and sociology, summa cum laude, from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Penn.

Dennis Gonzales is senior director of mission innovation and integration at the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA). Based in CHA's St. Louis office, Dr. Gonzales oversees the design and production of numerous CHA programs, meetings and member convenings in addition to the development of formation and mission resources for use across the Catholic health ministry.

Most recently, he served as the regional vice president for mission integration at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. Initially joining CHRISTUS Health in 2008 as a quality and performance improvement facilitator, he soon moved to director of the organizational development department, and then vice president for mission and spirituality at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Health System in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dr. Gonzales is a graduate of the prestigious CHRISTUS Leadership and Ethics Academy, which recognizes and prepares promising leaders for the future of the Catholic health ministry.

Prior to joining CHRISTUS Health, he served as associate dean for academics at a small, private university where courses in health care administration, computer technology, business and general education were offered. He has also served as a regional director and senior consultant for a multi-site medical case management company based in Southern California. A former De La Salle Christian Brother, he was a high school instructor of ethics, theology, church history, Christian and Hebrew Scriptures, government and economics.

At CHA he authors bi-monthly columns for CHA's journal, Health Progress, and is responsible for oversite of CHA's Mission Leader Advisory Committee, as well as a variety of task forces, seminars and forums sponsored by CHA.

Bronwyn Morgan is the founder/resident teacher of Bliss In Me Meditation (www.blissinme.com), where she facilitates a modern approach to meditation. She believes that stillness, love, peace and compassion are the keys to a liberated and free world and to a deep inner peace steeped in divine wisdom. Ms. Morgan teaches in a very engaging and fun style and makes unlocking the challenges to stillness more approachable and accessible in today’s busy world.

Ms. Morgan has been practicing Eastern wisdom for 20 years. She experienced a life changing spiritual event on a beach in Northern California in 1994 that changed her life and was the genesis for her spiritual journey. She has been taught by several masters at the Dharmakaya Middleway Buddhist Center, Soto Zen Center, and the New Kadampa Tradition under Gen Kelsang Mondrub, In Spirit Truth Center, Om 2 Om and has worked with Deepak Chopra and his “Seduction of the Spirit” workshop. She teaches mindfulness, TM, and many other meditation techniques in many studios and tea houses as well as for business at companies such as Coca-Cola, Kaiser Permanente and with many tech startups.

She is also Chuden level Japanese Reiki practitioner. Ms. Morgan has interviewed spiritual leaders such as Deepak Chopra and other leaders of charitable work who promote peace, unity and healing.

Diarmuid Rooney is senior director of ministry formation at the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA). He assists the Catholic health ministry with thought leadership and subject matter expertise in ministry formation. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction in the design, development and implementation of a ministry formation strategy; collaborating with key stakeholders to develop an integrated approach to formation; and assisting in the implementation of projects related to Catholic identity.

Prior to joining CHA in 2018, Diarmuid served for eight years as vice president, formation and communication technology, at the Ministry Leadership Center in Sacramento, Calif. The Ministry Leadership Center was established in 2004 to expand and enrich executive health care leaders’ commitment to the Catholic tradition’s mission, vision and values. His key focus was co-designing and facilitating innovative leadership formation programs that transformed leaders personally and professionally, enabling them to deliver cultural transformation for their organizations. Previously, Diarmuid was regional director of mission formation for Providence St. Joseph Health & Services in Oregon (16,000 associates), where he provided organizational leadership for cultural transformation to sustain the work of the founders and ensure the presence of core values in all aspects of today’s ministry.

During his active role in ministry since 1991, he worked with the Christian Brothers and was a Benedictine monk in Ireland. He trained as a clinical psychotherapist at St.

Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin. He co-founded and directed a community-based counseling and psychotherapy center, where he provided individual and group therapy, facilitation and organizational consultancy. He subsequently served as director for the Mercy Conference and Retreat Center in Burlingame, Calif., sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy.

His professional experience includes cultural analysis, organizational development, clinical psychotherapy, retreat direction, pastoral counseling and program development specific to adult education. He holds master’s degrees in both theology, from the Jesuit School of Theology, Santa Clara University, and clinical psychotherapy, University College Dublin, School of Medicine. Diarmuid is particularly interested in how these disciplines impact the culture of spirituality in the workplace. He also holds degrees in business and social administration (University College Dublin); philosophy and politics (University College Dublin) and is a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu, The Honor Society of Jesuit Institutions of Higher Education.

Maria Ross, the founder of brand consultancy Red Slice, believes cash flow, creativity and compassion are not mutually exclusive. Ms. Ross has authored multiple books, including The Empathy Edge: Harnessing the Value of Compassion as an Engine for Success.

She understands the power of empathy on the brand and personal levels: In 2008, shortly after launching her business, she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that almost killed her and inspired her memoir, Rebooting My Brain.

Ms. Ross is host of The Empathy Edge podcast and has spoken to audiences ranging from TEDx to The New York Times to BlogHer. She has been featured in and written for numerous media outlets such as MSNBC, Forbes.com and NPR and has written for numerous media outlets, including Newsweek, Huffington Post and Entrepreneur.com.

Andrew J. Santos III (Andy) is division senior vice president, mission integration for CHI Health. CHI Health serves as the Midwest Division of CommonSpirit Health a Catholic, faith-based health system, serving as one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems. In his role, Mr. Santos is responsible for insuring the Catholic identity, mission and core values of the ministry permeate the culture, strategy and operations of the Midwest division, including the 28 hospitals, 190 clinics, home care agencies and other specialized ministries across eight dioceses in the four states of North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa.

Mr. Santos has worked in Catholic health care for 15 years as a mission integration executive, responsible for the strategic and executive leadership of health systems vis-a-vis their Catholic identity by helping them to fulfill their mission, vision and values in all aspects of organizational culture. His areas of executive responsibility included leadership over pastoral care, community benefit, ethics, advocacy, ecclesial relations, philanthropy, workplace spirituality and formation for executives, physicians, management and front-line staff.

Before entering health care, Mr. Santos worked for nearly 10 years in various positions within the Archdiocese of Chicago including as administrator, director of liturgy and director of religious education. With more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit faith-based executive leadership, he has served as a writer and speaker in a myriad of areas including catechetical training, liturgical formation, mission inculcation, education, sponsorship, mission integration and church design.

Andrew completed his masters in business administration with a health care management concentration through Indiana Wesleyan University in December 2010 and a masters in divinity through the University of St. Mary of the Lake University in 1997. He is currently enrolled in a doctorate in health care mission leadership program through Loyola University Chicago with an expected completion date of December 2022.
