CHA's Mission Leader Seminar annually brings together mission leaders, and for 2019, formation leaders too, from across the continuum of care to gain timely insights into the topics, trends, issues and opportunities of mission integration and formation in the health ministry. Based on overwhelmingly positive feedback, CHA is again hosting it as a pre-Assembly meeting.

The 2019 Mission Leader seminar has a two-fold purpose:

  1. To detail the new comprehensive formation framework developed by members of CHA. The CHA framework will be shared, then participants will engage in dialogue on the role of those who lead formation, their own ongoing formation and competency development. Participants will grow in their awareness of the resources that are currently available and/or being developed for mission and formation leaders.
  2. To address mission as an executive position. Through a panel discussion, participants will gain insights from health care executives around the importance of well-formed, competent mission leaders, and the expectation other senior leaders have of mission leaders at the senior table. Terms such as "executive presence" and "mission executive" will be examined.

While the Mission Leader Seminar is a Saturday-only event, CHA has developed two programs on Sunday morning that may be of interest to mission and formation leaders: The Heart Of Aging Services and Community Benefit Program.
