We live in a world
in which wrongdoing exists and we are constantly bumping up against it,
individually and institutionally. In order to advance or sustain our ministries,
Catholic health care organizations are partnering increasingly with
organizations that may be involved in activities not aligned with the Ethical
and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Inside and outside of Catholic health care,
leaders and others strive to assess which of these relationships are morally
acceptable in light of the principles of moral cooperation and considerations of
scandal. This case-based webinar explored the many ways to frame the issues and
provide guideposts for practical application in our
organizations.
Presenters: Philip Boyle, Ph.D., Vice
President, Mission and Ethics, Catholic Health East; and Carol Bayley,
Ph.D., Vice President for Ethics and Justice Education, Dignity Health.
