Community health needs assessments often result in identification of a substantial number of service gaps and health care problems. Financial and other resource limitations demand that we set priorities among assessed community health needs in order to focus resources on where they will do the most good and be most effective. This program, led by public health professor Leslie Beitsch, described established methods and tools for setting priorities for community health improvement.

In this webinar, the presenter discusses what, who, why, and when to prioritize. He also offers information concerning different priority-setting methods inclucing 'dotmocracy', nominal group planning, strategy map, simplex method, hanlon method, criteria weighting and prioritization matrix. As a result of this webinar participants are able to use information from community health needs assessments to determine priorities, engage community members and organizational leaders in setting priorities, and select criteria and tools for priority setting.
