long-term care organizations have an important role in helping address the
physical, emotional, spiritual and familial needs of frail elders at the end of
life. Nursing assistants can help residents and their families by understanding
the different types of distress that may be experienced and approaches for
providing comfort. This webinar described the role of nursing assistants as
important members of the care team for planning and providing end-of-life care.
It also offered examples of how nursing assistants have contributed to comforting
residents and their families by helping to manage symptoms offering spiritual
