Catholic Health Partners is now Mercy Health

August 1, 2014

Cincinnati-based Catholic Health Partners changed its name July 24 to Mercy Health.

The 23-hospital system, which operates in Ohio and Kentucky, made the change as part of a broader strategic effort for the organization to "maximize our quality and cost-efficiency by simplifying our structure," according to Mercy Health President and Chief Executive Michael Connelly. The new strategy also includes improving the way the system helps people better their health, he said.

The name change will impact all Mercy Health entities, including the system's hospitals, eight senior living communities, five hospice programs and seven home health agencies. The name of Mercy Health's sponsor, Partners in Catholic Health Ministries, will not change.

Mercy Health's website address is now mercy.com.

Some Mercy regions already had been phasing in the Mercy name. Over the next several years, the system will phase in the new moniker for the remaining regions.
