Lynn Britton's vision of health care is patient-focused, technology enabled and always provided with compassion in the spirit of mercy. As president and CEO of Chesterfield, Missouri-based Mercy, his future-focused leadership is individuals and communities across his system's region.

Nearly 10 years ago, Lynn led Mercy's work as an early adopter of a comprehensive electronic health record system across 44 hospitals and 300 clinics. To ensure around-the-clock reliability of this and other technologies, he guided Mercy to construct a world-class data center that provides the foundation for future technology and telemedicine. Under his leadership, Mercy developed the Virtual Care Center, a hub for the system's telemedicine programs as well as ongoing efforts to transform health care.

Lynn was the founding leader and first president of Mercy's innovative supply chain division, ROi. Now ranked as the number-four supply chain organization in the country, ROi has realized more than $1 billion in savings for Mercy.

He has a special interest in the health of children, and under his leadership, Mercy formed Mercy Kids, a dedicated group of pediatricians and specialists practicing in hospitals, clinics and via telemedicine so parents and kids can stay close to home.

In 2011, when an EF5 tornado destroyed Mercy's St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, Lynn made the immediate decision to keep all the hospital employees on the payroll. It was the right thing to do for them, he said, and for the people of Southwest Missouri.
