Overview:
Co-sponsored by the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) and VHA Inc., in cooperation with the School of Public Health at Saint Louis University, this first-time program offering will introduce new public health evidence-based tools and knowledge to health care practitioners in order to enhance the effectiveness of community benefit programs and thus the overall health of communities.
Objectives:
After attending this session, participants will be able to:
- Select community benefit programs and policies that have the most promise for effectiveness.
- Ascertain if a community benefit program is an evidence-based practice.
- Identify the latest and most effective electronic tools for assessing community needs, disseminating information and evaluating programs.
- Influence decision-making through outcome evaluation of community benefit programs.
- Better understand recent federal and state initiatives laws and regulations to community benefit implementation.
- Measure and track organizational community benefit performance over time.
- Provide a framework for engaging trustees in evidence-based analysis and community parameters.
- Describe the latest findings from health communication science being applied in practical and replicable ways to help eliminate health disparities.
