Sharing Meals

Lord, we pause now in our meeting to enjoy a meal together. We know that among the many things that Jesus did on behalf of your reign, sharing meals was one of his favorites. In his meals, strangers became friends, outcasts were made welcome, hurts were healed, sins were forgiven, and new dreams for a better world were born. We ask you to bless now the meal that we are about to share together—that it may be reminiscent of the meals that your son shared with friends. May the food and company of which we partake nourish us and bring us closer to the reign that you have planned for us.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen
