    Prophetic Voice

    OVERVIEW

    This program, titled "Prophetic Voice, Mission Leadership for the Future," is designed specifically for new mission leaders and those considering entering the ministry of mission. The goal of Prophetic Voice is to assist mission leaders in achieving greater effectiveness in their responsibilities in the organizational life and daily operations of the Catholic health ministry. Although a complete agenda is not yet available, for scheduling purposes, the program will begin at approximately 1 p.m. CT on Sept. 17 and conclude by noon on Sept. 19.

    After completion of this program, participants will be able to:

    • Articulate a fundamental theological grounding for the work of mission and framework for the Catholic health ministry.
    • Explain Catholic social teaching relating to health care.
    • Apply the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
    • Articulate the role of the mission leader in light of facility and system responsibilities.
    • Describe the mission leader's role in community benefit.
    • Identify timely issues, practices and resources in pastoral care.
    • Express trends in mission leader competencies and organizational roles.
