    ATTENDANCE

This program is designed to provide ample small-group discussion time so that all registrants can gain knowledge from the presenters as well as each other. So that the small groups become a forum for networking and sharing of experiences and information, registrants must participate in each session.

Consistent participation is also required in order to award CEUs. For those attending as part of an in-person team, a record of attendance for each session needs to be maintained by a team member if any of the participants wish to earn CEU credits. CHA will monitor attendance by individuals by noting who is logged in during the entirety of each live session.

If someone cannot attend one of the sessions, the registrant will need to let program director, Brian Yanofchick, CHA senior director of mission integration and leadership formation, know in advance so that small groups can be rearranged as necessary for that week's session.

Sessions are recorded, and the recordings made available to registrants the week after the session. This is a courtesy for anyone who cannot attend a live session because of an unexpected absence. The recordings, in no way, can be used to take the place of attending the live session and participating in small group discussions. They also do not constitute attendance for earning CEU credits.

    Individual and Group Attendance
This online course provides a valuable educational and formative experience for individuals as well as teams of leaders attending together from one facility/location. The real difference in the experience of an individual registrant versus someone who is part of an in-person team, is in the small group portion of each week's session. Individuals will connect by phone with other individual registrants from across the country to form a small group, while in-person teams are assigned as a small group. Learn a bit more below:

Participation as Part of a Group
Many organizations opt to utilize this online program as an opportunity for teambuilding as well as education. Executive teams and/or department leads or other groups are registered then attend together in one room using one computer and one phone line. Based on the experiences of these groups in the first two years, CHA recommends that they be made up of no more than eight individuals. If only two or three individuals attend as an in-person team from one location, CHA will assign them to a small group that will include others from outside of that in-person team.

    Participation as an Individual
Individual registrants can attend at the office or anywhere. They are assigned to small groups and then connect via the phone to other members of their small group. Although not face-to-face with their group, participants in the first two years of this program have shared that the connections they made with others in their groups have continued well after the program concludes. Also, foster teambuilding within a system, CHA assigns individual registrants from various facilities within the same system to the same small group.
