Ecclesiology and Spiritual Renewal Program for Health Care Leaders

    OVERVIEW

Held in Rome, the Ecclesiology and Spiritual Renewal Program for Health Care Leaders offers an opportunity for executive leaders and trustees to experience the broader perspective of Catholic health care ministry and realize the worldwide nature of the church's work. This perspective is important because there are a variety of statements, teachings and directives which originate in Rome and have a direct impact on our work. This program offers an opportunity for us to understand more fully the viewpoint of the universal church.

The program includes meetings with Vatican leaders at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Congregation for Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life and the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care, all of which have an interest in Catholic health care. Participants will attend a general papal audience in St. Peter's Square and participate in a one-day pilgrimage to nearby Assisi, the home of Saints Francis and Clare. There the group learns about one expression of spirituality that has inspired U.S. health care: the Franciscan tradition.

This annual program is an invitational event. For additional information, please contact Brian Yanofchick, CHA senior director of mission integration and leadership development. The next available offering of the program is April 21-26, 2013.
