    Bill Hoey, LCSW
    Vice President of Mission Services,

    Bridgeport, Conn.

    William Hoey, LCSW, is vice president of mission services for St. Vincent's Health Services. He is responsible for overseeing all mission services and activities for the medical center and the entire system, with continued responsibility for the pastoral care department and the parish nurse program.

    A licensed clinical social worker, he most recently served as vice president for Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Bridgeport, overseeing all aspects of the multi-program Catholic Family Services Agency.

    While at Catholic Charities, he was instrumental in developing a $7 million housing project, a reorganization of mental health services resulting in a productive working relationship with St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Services and an early childhood consultation project providing clinical assessment for at-risk children in Head Start and school readiness programs. He also implemented a community outreach and prison ministry program, a program providing formal representation to immigrants, and a program of clergy and victim assistance counseling for victims of sexual abuse.

    After graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from St. Anselm's College, he earned his master's degree in social work with a dual concentration in clinical and administration from Fordham University.

    Chris Palombo
    Chief Executive Officer
    Dispensary of Hope

    Chris Palombo is chief executive officer of the Dispensary of Hope. He was a project manager within Saint Thomas Health System's (STHS) parent company, Ascension Health, prior to leading his own consulting firm.

    During his career, Mr. Palombo has worked with more than 75 health care organizations and community health coalitions on improvement projects, including a redesign of the safety net health care infrastructure in 15 Northern Michigan counties. He received his master's degree in health care management in 2007 from Lindenwood University.

    The Dispensary of Hope is an extension of STHS that provides sustainable access to medication for uninsured communities by distributing medication samples collected from participating physicians. Founded in 2003, the nonprofit has distributed more than $20 million worth of pharmaceuticals to those in need.

    Bill Solberg
    Director of Community Services
    Columbia St. Mary's Hospital
    Milwaukee

    Bill Solberg has worked throughout his career in the field of health care for vulnerable populations at Columbia St. Mary's through development of programs to provide direct service. He has provided leadership to St. Ben's Clinic for the Homeless, Seton Dental Clinic, the Huiras Family Ozaukee Clinic and to a team of parish nurses. Recently, he has been involved in the creation of the community-based chronic disease management clinics in central city food pantries and churches to provide hypertension and diabetes treatment in locations often frequented by vulnerable people. He has initiated a church-based initiative with 40 Church of God in Christ (COGIC) churches to provide health education and screening through partnership between parish nurses, community health workers and church-based liaisons. He oversees the Community Benefit Process for the Columbia St. Mary's system of clinics and hospitals.

    He earned his master's degree in social welfare in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the State of Wisconsin.

    Dan Simpson
    Chief Development Officer
    Dispensary of Hope

    Dan Simpson serves as the chief development officer for the Dispensary of Hope, a not-for-profit social venture that provides innovative pharmaceutical access strategies through a national network of community access sites. He spearheads the national "Provider of Hope" sourcing growth strategy (to achieve 0 percent waste of medications) while helping new community access sites join the network (to achieve 100 percent Hope). Dan's passion for the poor and social entrepreneurial perspective is shaped by over a decade of experience in health care consulting, revenue cycle management and work with state Medicaid plans — balanced by lessons from four start-up ventures in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Growing up in urban Philadelphia and then rural Maine, Dan saw the unique disparities of both health care ecosystems through the lens and example of his mother, a nurse, who exemplified compassionate care. Today, Dan lives in Nashville, Tenn., with his wife and three children.
